He set up the Private Equity business at his previous assignment and led it to become the 16th largest PE business in Asia (ranked by PEI Asia) and the 2nd in MENA, with AUM of US$ 3 billion. Shailesh has served on the board of 12 companies, and was ranked as one of the top 50 most influential people in the regional financial services industry. He was also awarded “Outstanding Achievement by an Individual” in 2013 by MENA Fund Manager Performance. Shailesh is one of the most reputable PE investors in the region with more than 58 transactions executed. Most of these transactions were sourced through his team’s personal relationships. He is the largest regional investor in medium size family businesses with more than 30 transactions and was instrumental in managing 19 exits (14 Initial Public Offerings (IPO) and 5 trade sales.

Currently a Partner at Regulus Capital, Amitava is responsible for expanding the reach of the healthcare and F&B clients of Regulus Capital. Prior to that, Amitava was a Partner at Global Capital Management (GCM), the Private Equity Arm of Global Investment House, and was instrumental in expanding its Private Equity Initiatives. Amitava has more than 17 years of experience in financial services and fund management. His experience is primarily in deal sourcing and execution, company value enhancement and governance improvement. He has much relevant transactional experience in education, healthcare, retail and financial services, and has also worked with ICRA Ltd. (an associate of Moody’s) and Phillips (India) Ltd in corporate finance and credit rating. Amitava holds a degree in B. Engineering and post-graduate in Management. Currently he overlooks the expansion and outreach of Healthcare MENA, making it one of the leading primary healthcare provider in the region.
Himansu Mohapatra is the Group General Manager- Investment at Muscat Overseas Company and serves on the Executive Committee of the Group Companies. With over 15 years of experience spanning Investment Banking, Portfolio Management, Private Equity, Real Estate Development, Strategic Management and Organizational Development, Himansu also serves on the Board of several listed and limited liability companies in Oman and UAE including Gulf Investment Services Company SAOG, Muscat Thread Mills SAOG, Computer Stationery Industry SAOG., Swiss Perfume FZC, AFR Holding Limited, MOG Holding Limited and English Education Management Company LLC. Prior to the current assignment, Himansu was with Al Hosn Investment Company SAOC (JV between Qatar Holding and Ministry of Finance, Oman) as Vice President – Investments. He has also worked with CRISIL, India (S&P Group). Himansu holds a Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (Advance Accountancy) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Finance).
Hamad is the CEO of Al Hail Holding, an Abu Dhabi based company overseeing a portfolio of diverse businesses including infrastructure, retail, real estate, financial services, communication, power and energy. Hamad also serves as the Chairman of various businesses, including Global Development Group, a leading development company in the UAE.
Mr. Abu Huwaij has more than 15 years of regional investment experience spanning across healthcare, education, banking, finance, retail, transportation and industrial sectors. He has conducted due diligence, invested and made exits in these sectors since 2006. Previously, Mr. Abu Huwaij has worked with Global Capital Management (Kuwait), KPMG and Grant Thornton LLP. He holds an MBA from Cass Business School of City University London.
